Celebrating Black History Month!

First Baptist Woodward Church is a devoted group of Christian believers committed to welcoming seekers of the faith, loving as Jesus loved, and reaching out with compassionate hearts and caring hands to all who are in need.

Our primary purpose is to worship God, by studying the Bible, growing in faith, nurturing discipleship, reaching out to others and serving the church and community.

We extend to you an invitation to be our guest at an upcoming worship service or event.

We look forward to meeting you in person and celebrating the goodness of God.

Did you know...

1) Psalm 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible?

2) Before Psalm 118, Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible?

3) After Psalm 118, Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible?

4) That there are 594 chapters each before and following Psalm 118?

5) That if you add up all the chapters except Psalm 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters.

6) And incidentally, 1188 or Psalm 118 verse 8 also happens to be the middle verse of the entire Bible.

The central verse should have a fairly important message don't you think?
"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."

"Bringing God's People to the Spiritual Knowledge of who He is"

I ASKED GOD

I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, "No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up."

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, "No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary."

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, "No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned."

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, "No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you."

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, "No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me."

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, "No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful."

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, "No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things."

I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said ... "Ah, finally you have the idea."

May God Bless You,
"To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world".
